Johnnie walker comenzo hace un año, a principios de 1997 cuando
Juan Pablo, uno de nuestros guitarristas llamo a Rafael (el otro) para
formar una banda. La idea era tocar con un estilo diferente al del punk
de medellin, se buscaba un estilo de punk tipo californiano. Rafael contacto
a Juan Camilo, el bajista y Juan Pablo hizo lo mismo con Andres (ex-baterista).
Un mes despues de ensayar, Sebastian, el vocalista entro a la banda y poco
despues se salio Andres por desicion propia. Nuestro segundo y actual baterista
es Anibal que entro semanas despues.
Johnnie Walker ha tocado con bandas como Acido folclorico, Fastidio,
KDH, GP y Antitodo.
En Noviembre de 1997 comenzamos a grabar nuestro primer album llamado
"Solo quiero doversion" en Lorito Records. Fue terminado de grabar y mezclado
en Diciembre y esta programado para salir a mediados del 98 (esperenlo)
Nuestras mayores influencias son grupos como: NOFX, Pennywise, Afi,
Lag wagon, y Vandals.
Johnnie Walker began a year ago, around march 1997 when Juan Pablo,
one of our guitarrists called Rafael, the other one to form a band. The
idea was to play whith a different style than the mainstream of Medellin
punk bands, the style that we looked for was new school californian punk.
Rafael then called Juan Camilo, the bassist and Juan Pablo did the same
with andres (ex-drummer). A month later Sebastian ( lead vocals) joined
the band and after that andres left. Our second and actual drummer is anibal
who got in a few weeks after.
Johnnie Walker has played with bands like Acido Folclorico, Fastidio,
KDH, GP and Antitodo.
In November 97 we began to record our first album called "solo quiero
diversion" in Lorito Records. We finished recording it and mixing it in
December and it is scheduled to como out in the middle of 98.
Our main influences are bands like NOFX, Pennywise, Afi, Lag Wagon
and the Vandals.
